Andy Patchell always brings warmth and a sense of ease whenever he performs at the Lily Sessions, and this night was no different. His recent release Never Trust a Man (With Egg on His Face) is a beautiful song, full of character and charm, and is accompanied by a great video on YouTube. Andy’s performances consistently leave the room smiling, and it’s always a pleasure to have him back on stage. Ger Eaton performed a wonderful set on the night, including a Christmas song he learned especially for the event. His debut solo album Season Changes, released in October 2025, is well worth your time. It is one of those albums that invites you to listen in one sitting and come away feeling changed by the experience. Don’t just take our word for it, give it a listen. Thank you, Ger, for your generosity and support on the night. Not long after the release of his debut album Half Light, Eamon Brady returned to the Lily Sessions to show his support for Build for the Boys. His set was thoughtful and beautifully delivered, offering a glimpse into the strength of the album as a whole. If you haven’t yet spent time with Half Light, it is a record that rewards listening from start to finish. We are very grateful to Eamon for his continued support. Jamie Thompson took to the Lily Sessions stage for the first time and delivered a set filled with depth and meaning. Each song was performed with a clear sense of intention, and his voice carried a quiet strength that resonated with the audience. We were very grateful to have him as part of the lineup on such an important night and hope this will be the first of many appearances with us. The return of Cathal Farrelly to the Lily Sessions was well worth the wait. A gifted singer and musician, Cathal has a way of drawing listeners in and holding their attention without effort. His songs were delivered with care and confidence, reminding everyone in the room why his performances leave such a strong impression. If you get the opportunity to catch him live again, it is well worth your time. A seasoned Lily Sessions regular, I.H. Wright and the Sea Otters once again brought something fresh to the stage. Each appearance feels slightly different, with new ideas woven into familiar elements, which keeps things interesting for both the audience and ourselves. It’s always a pleasure to have musicians who continue to evolve while remaining true to their sound, and this set was no exception. Another first-time performer, Eimear Carolan stepped onto the Lily Sessions stage as if she had been playing there for years. Moving between acoustic guitar and harmonica, she delivered a confident and well-balanced set that held the room’s attention. The addition of harmonica brought a lovely texture to the songs, and her overall performance marked her out as a musician worth keeping an eye on. We were delighted to have her as part of the night. Connell Clare returned to the Lily Sessions stage, this time sharing his slot with Ryan Herbert, who was making his first appearance with us. Together they worked very well, supporting each other naturally and creating a relaxed but engaging set. There was a real sense of connection between the two musicians, which translated clearly to the audience. We hope to see them return again and hear how this pairing continues to grow. First time on the Lily Sessions stage and Ethan Downey truly held his own. From the moment he began, it was clear he was comfortable in the space, delivering his songs with confidence and a strong sense of presence. His performance was engaging throughout and showed real promise. It will be interesting to see how his songwriting and performance continue to develop, and we would be delighted to welcome him back again in the future. Our Christmas Fundraiser for Build for the Boys was something very special. Thanks to the artists, the audience, and the generosity on the night, it was one of the busiest Lily Sessions we’ve ever had. This Sunday, the Lily Sessions returns, and a quick shout-out to the small team helping make the night happen. We’re back again with a few small changes for this month’s Lily Sessions.
Our next session will take place on Sunday, the 28th of December, and we’ll be starting a little earlier than usual due to Sunday hours in the bar. Eimear Carew King
Eimear closed the night in the most unexpected and beautiful way — first singing a cappella, then joined by our own Niall Finnegan. I’ve known Eimear since school, back when she was the rocker and I was the Cure head. Seeing her sing again brought it all full circle. A lovely way to end the night.

Their first time playing the Lily Sessions — and what a debut. Any Sign of Steve brought great energy to the stage, mixing warmth and intensity in equal measure. They had the room with them from the first note. Hopefully the first of many visits.

We’ve seen Aaron rocking out on bass with Sorta Nova — but hearing him step forward with his own songs was something special. The whole band sounded fantastic. We’ve a feeling this won’t be their last time at the Lily Sessions.
